Each of our residences has 10 suites, offering a total of 20 palliative care beds to our Windsor-Essex community – all at no cost to our patients and their loved ones.
The care in our homes is provided by specially trained medical care staff and volunteers. Each patient suite has a private washroom, pull out bed, fridge, fireplace, and private patio. The public kitchen areas are managed by volunteers, who provide daily homemade meals to our residents. Our residences are an inviting and home-like space where families can visit freely without the worry of providing day-to-day care.
The Hospice of Windsor Essex County and the Erie Shores Health Foundation have an agreement to ensure the operations and funding of The Hospice, Erie Shores Campus Residence and Welcome Centre. The Hospice operates all programs and services. The Erie Shores Health Foundation fundraises the operational expenses that are not covered by government funding.
For a verbal description or walk through of the Windsor Campus or Erie Shores Campus video, please contact our Hospice at 519.974.7100 or reception@thehospice.ca and our team would be happy to provide support.
Our Hospice Residences are open to individuals and families who could benefit from care in an environment other than their own home.
Patients must be referred by their doctor, and from there, work closely with the Erie-St. Clair Home and Community Care who coordinates the referral process. Admission is based on their determination of eligibility and the Hospice’s ability to accommodate patients.
