Announcing 2nd Year of the Dr. Jim Gall Hospice Award for Compassionate Palliative Care, Supporting the Whole Person and Their Caregivers.

Good day;

It gives me great pleasure to announce the 2nd year of the Dr. Jim Gall Hospice Award for Compassionate Palliative Care, Supporting the Whole Person and Their Caregivers.

As some of you know, Dr. Jim Gall joined The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc. as a Palliative Physician in 2008 and retired in 2016. He continues to be truly admired and well-respected for his compassion and empathy by patients, families, coworkers, colleagues and community health care professionals. He was also seen as a mentor, leader, and strong advocate for patients in achieving high quality, holistic palliative care.

As a legacy and tribute to his life’s work and his devotion, The Hospice created The Dr. Jim Gall Hospice Award for Compassionate Palliative Care, Supporting the Whole Person and Their Caregivers. This award celebrates and honours healthcare professionals in recognition of outstanding achievement, contributions to, and impact in the field of palliative care in Windsor and Essex County.

Last year was the inaugural year for the award; the first recipient Linda Sabatini was nominated within Hospice by her colleagues. This year, we have open nominations to the Palliative Care Community of Windsor and Essex County.

Please click here for the Nomination package for you to recognize the outstanding work of your colleagues or someone you know in the Palliative Care Community. Nominations are to be submitted by end of day on Friday, August 24, 2018.

Sincerely,
