Hospice Offers Leadership & Innovation in Supportive Care

The Hospice is Canada's largest community-based palliative care facility.
Our innovative programs and services support and educate patients, their families and caregivers from the point of pre-diagnosis through the palliative stage.
We offer our many unique programs and services free of charge and do not require a physician's referral.

Hospice's Care team is here to help whenever a person is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
Our team consists of a palliative care physician, nurse educators, social workers, pastoral care workers and trained volunteers.

We offer the following free services:

  • Personalized support and care in your own homes, hospital or long-term care room
  • Pain and Symptom Clinic (requires physician referral)
  • Individual and Group Counseling to help individuals, family members and friends cope with the illness
  • Ways to reduce stress and increase comfort through massage, tai chi, therapeutic touch, art and more
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Residential home stays for eligible patients
  • Special programs for to help children with loved ones facing life-threatening illnesses
  • Help accessing services available in the community

We're here for kids and families

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball; someone in your family, or friend, is diagnosed with a
life-threatening or chronic illness. When that happens, it affects everyone - children, family and friends, and it is especially important to have support.

We provide specially designed programs and services for children, youth or families who have
a loved one living with a life-threatening illness. We are just a phone call away.
